Tracking IDs are used to track the unit history for an applicant, resident or tenant for any property within the database.
The system assigns a unique Tracking ID to the lease of anyone who has not leased before. For someone who has leased previously, you must look up and select the person’s existing Tracking ID and then link it to the current lease.
To view unit history for a person, refer to the Resident History by Tracking ID and Tracking ID Cross Reference reports, which provide details for all the leases to which an applicant/resident/tenant has been associated.

The Tracking ID also appears on Resident/Tenant Profile reports and the Lease Profile.
The following property policy affects Tracking IDs:
Setup—Policies—Property Policies—Additional Options category
Use Tracking ID—This policy must be selected for the system to track unit history for applicants/residents/tenants.
Users must have edit permissions granted in the Security module to link a lease to an existing lease’s Tracking ID:
The Tracking ID appears as a field on the Lease Info tab. Users with permissions to edit Tracking IDs can do so from these locations within the system:

Permissions to edit Tracking IDs are granted from the System module: System—Security—Users—eSite—Leasing—Edit Tracking ID.
