Jobs Grid

Make the following menu selections to display this grid:

Setup—Job Costing—Jobs

Use this grid to manage the setup of jobs. When you select a job from the grid to add or edit, the Job Master, User Codes, General, Contract, and Payroll tabs appear. These tabs contain the descriptive and contract information for the job.

Fields

ClosedGrid Fields

The following fields and buttons appear on the grid that displays when you select the menu option.

Add Job

Click the button to add a new job. Tabs to complete display. Refer to instructions later in this topic for information on how to add a Job.

Include closed jobs

Click to select the check box and then closed jobs appear in the grid.

Grid

Job ID

The job identification that appears on lists and in reports. Click this column title to sort the list, click the Filter button to filter the grid by this column, or click the Job ID link to display the Job tabs.

Name

The name of the job that appears on lists and in reports. Click the column title to sort the list or click the Filter button to filter the grid by this column.

Customer ID

The customer ID of the job that appears on lists and in reports. Click the column title to sort the list or click the Filter button to filter the grid by this column.

Address

The address of the job that appears on lists and in reports. Click the column title to sort the list or click the Filter button to filter the grid by this column.

State

The state in which the job is located as it appears on lists and in reports. Click the column title to sort the list or click the Filter button to filter the grid by this column.

Documents

One of the following icons appears in this column:

No documents are currently stored for the job. Click the icon to upload documents for the job.

At least one document is currently stored for the job. Rest your mouse pointer on the icon to see the number of documents stored. Click the icon to view, add, or delete documents.  

For more information, refer to the Documents Tab instructions.

Delete  

Use the Delete button to delete a Job. Only Jobs with no transactions have the Delete icon available.

If any transactions have been tied to the Job, the delete icon does not appear. To delete these Jobs, use the Delete Jobs functionality.

ClosedTo Add a Job

  1. Select Setup—Job Costing—Jobs and then click Add Job. Complete the tabs that display: Job Master, User Code, General, Contract, Payroll.
  2. Click Save. The setup grid displays again.

ClosedTo Edit a Job

  1. Access the jobs grid by selecting Setup—Job Costing—Jobs.
  2. Use Filter buttons on the grid to locate the job you want to edit, if necessary, and then select the link in the Job ID column for the job you want to edit. The job tabs display.
  3. Use any of these field lists to help you edit the tabs: Job Master, User Code, General, Contract, Payroll.  
  4. Click Save. The job setup grid displays again.

ClosedTo Delete a Job

  1. Access the jobs grid by selecting Setup—Job Costing—Jobs.
  2. Use Filter buttons on the grid to locate the job you want to delete, if necessary.
  3. Click the Delete button in the Delete column.
  4. Click OK to confirm the deletion.
