System and Database Maintenance

Terminology

A Database Maintenance Plan is a specific SQL Server option within Enterprise Manager. A SQL Server Maintenance Plan cannot clear Temp tables or delete old letter/output files.

Develop a Plan

AMSI strongly recommends setting up and implementing some sort of regular maintenance plan in order to maximize the efficiency and performance of the AMSI Evolution Suite. A well planned and executed maintenance plan lets you regularly and consistently take care of basic housekeeping tasks such as:

If using the SQL Database Maintenance Wizard, you cannot clear Temp tables or delete old letters or output files. These must be taken care of manually or by using the eSite Tuneup Utility.
