Reviewing the Event Log

Daily review of the Application Event Log is a good practice to follow. If you find any errors, AMSI recommends that you report them to our Customer Support Center so that our Development team can investigate the cause and provide a solution for preventing them from reoccurring.

AMSI also recommends that you resize the log, making it larger than the default, in order to keep at least a couple of days worth of activity. Size will vary depending on the actual number of users, but a good starting size is 10 MB (10,000 KB).

To Review the Event Log

  1. Access the Event Log using one of these options:
  2. Type Eventvwr.
  3. Click OK.
  4. When the Event Log opens, the default is the System Log. Select the Application Log.
  5. Review for any errors and, if found, report such errors to AMSI.

NoteNote

The Application Log can be saved to a file for shipping to AMSI or just cleared.
