To Void a Check
To void a check, the Void Checks security permission
must be selected for your user ID. To set this permission, from the list
at System—Users, select eFinancials—Accounts Payable—Transactions—Check
Entry—Void Checks.
Note
An error message will display if the accounting void
date is earlier than the accounting check date.
- From the eFinancials
menu, select Accounts Payable—Transactions—Check Entry.
- From the Bank Account drop-down
list, select a bank account.
- If you want approved checks to be listed
in the grid, select the Include
Approved Checks check box.
- If necessary, use
the
field to locate the check you want to void.
- For the check you
want to void, click the Void icon.
If the check partially pays the associated invoice(s),
you can void the check only. However, if the check pays the invoices in
full, you have the additional option to void the check and
the invoices it pays.
NOTE that purchase orders and subcontracts that were closed because they were fully invoiced or closed manually are reopened by the system when an associated invoice is deleted or voided.
- Options for the pop-up:
To void the check only, select Void Check Only,
To void the check and the associated invoices, select
Void Check/Invoice(s).
Lien Waivers - To automatically change Lien Waivers to Wasted/Lost/Void when the associated Checks are voided, check the Void associated lien waivers (check box). This changes the outstanding Lien Waiver to Wasted/Lost/Void status.
NOTE that these show Wasted/Lost/Void options:

- In the Void
Accounting Date field, the login date is used as the default accounting
date for the void. If necessary, type a different date.
- Click the button to Confirm your intention to perform a void.
