Make the following menu selections to display this grid:
eFinancials (or ePO)—Setup—Global Setup—Bank Accounts
Use this tab to manage bank accounts.
The following fields appear on the tab:
Add Bank Account
Click to add a bank account.
Find
This field defaults to Bank Account ID; however, if you click any underlined grid column title, the field label changes to reflect your selection. You can then search for entries based on the field label. For example, if you know the bank account description, click the Description column title and the find field label changes to Find Description.
Enter the first few letters or numbers to search for (or select from a drop-down list if one displays), and then select the Find button. The items that are the nearest match to your entry display in the grid below. Click column titles to sort the list further.
Go
Use the Page field and the Go Button to display additional pages when the list of entries in the grid is longer than one page.
Bank Account ID
The bank account identification that appears on lists and in reports. Click this column title to sort the list and change the Find field. Click the bank identification to display bank tabs.
Description
The description of the bank account that appears on lists and in reports. Click this column title to sort the list and change the Find field.
NOTE that the system prohibits adding or updating a bank account if the bank account Description is a duplicate. The value entered in the Description field must be unique.
An error message displays when adding a bank account if the user changes or enters a Description that is a duplicate of one already set up for another bank account, and then tabs to another field.
An error message displays upon the save of a new bank account or edit of an existing bank account, if the Description is a duplicate of one already saved for another bank account.
Next Check #
The starting check number for a check drawn on this account.
Documents
One of the following icons appears in this column:
No documents are currently stored for the bank account. Click the icon to upload documents for the bank account.
At least one document is currently stored for the bank account. Rest your mouse pointer on the icon to see the number of documents stored. Click the icon to view, add, or delete documents.
For more information, refer to the Documents Tab instructions.
Delete
Click to delete a bank account.
Sample Check
This option appears for eFinancials only.
Click the Print icon to print a sample check in PDF format (or, for signature checks only, RTF format). The sample check shows the check formatting, sample charges, the bank name and address, the signature, and the MICR line placement. The sample check prints for zero dollars and includes the note “NON-NEGOTIABLE - DO NOT CASH.”
The MICR line on the sample check includes the Check Number first (for sample checks, it is always 99999999999), followed by the Routing Number, and then the Bank Account Number.
The Print icon appears only if the user has the Print check sample security permission. For more information about setting security permissions, refer to the System Help.
Note
The record generated for the check sample appears on the Check Runs grid, identified by a User value of "SAMPLE_CHECK.”
When adding a bank account, be sure to complete the GL Accounts Tab. One entitycompany/GL account combination must be selected for reconciliation on this tab. If no combination is selected, you cannot save the bank account.
