User Designed Reports Overview

SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a set of tools included in Microsoft SQL Server versions 2005 and later. It provides ways to create and print reports over the Web. It also provides a client interface called Report Builder, which enables you to design simple reports without having expertise in Crystal Reports or any complex programming language, or a detailed knowledge of your database.

For more advanced reporting, you can use eSite’s Custom Report option to run your own Crystal Reports, or contract with AMSI Professional Services for complex integrated report solutions.

The Reports—User Designed Reports menu provides access for you to create and manage your user designed reports. This menu includes the following options:

Call Report Builder

The Call Report Builder menu item launches the Microsoft Report Builder so you can create your own reports or edit sample reports.

Install Models and Reports

From the Install Models and Reports menu item, you can update the data source, install data models, and install report templates. You can also use this feature for maintenance purposes to update the data source, or overwrite existing models and reports.

Delete Reports

From the Delete Reports menu item, you can delete user designed reports from eSite.

Set Report Defaults

From the Set Report Defaults menu item, you can set the default options for each report The user can then set default values for the report and specify calculations for certain fields.

Reports List

Individual reports that have been saved to the eSite report server are listed on the User Designed Reports menu. Click a report to display it directly from eSite. You can select the properties for which you want to run the report and override the default report settings.
