System—Security—Unlock Users
Use this page to unlock users who are locked out of the system because of too many failed login attempts.
A list of User Names of users who are locked out of the system appear on the page. To unlock a User Names, select the User Name to unlock, which takes you to a page where you reset the password and then click the Unlock User button. This unlocks the user, whose password is now set to the new password. You must provide the new password to the user.
The next time the user logs in, the user is required to enter the password you provide, and then establish a new password. This new password must meet minimum requirements.
NOTE that it is possible for someone with wide-ranging permissions in the System module to unlock a password from the User Security General Tab; however, limiting some users to the Unlock Users feature is a practical alternative.
To use Unlock Users, permission must be granted in the System Module.
System module—Security—Users—(select a user)—System—Security—Unlock User
Fields
User Name
A list of User Names. These are the User Names of users who are locked out of the system. Each User Name is a link. Click the link to open a new page that allows you to reset the password for the User Name.
NOTE that if there are no locked User Names, nothing appears on this page.
Password / Confirm Password
Reset the user's password by entering and confirming a new password. This is the password that you will give to the user so that the user can unlock their User Name, which enables them to log into the system.
Unlock User (button)
After entering and confirming the new password for the User Name, then click the Unlock User button to reset the password and unlock the user.
