Dashboard Concepts and Processes

The Dashboard is the first page that displays when you log in. Initially, the page is blank; however, you can add informational items called snap-ins to the page to suit your needs. The available Dashboard snap-ins can help you quickly review scheduled tasks for the day or enter new tasks.

Snap-ins must be added to the Dashboard from the Add Snap-in link on the Dashboard. You can set up global, application-specific, or both types of snap-ins:

For greater convenience, you can set up a Dashboard template and apply the template to multiple users.

Note

The Dashboard Templates setup functionality is available only to users who have been assigned the appropriate Dashboard Template permissions for Dashboard Snap-ins

Using Snap-ins

Snap-ins are located on tabs on your global or application Dashboard. You can create up to seven tabs. Click on the plus sign ( + ) next to an existing tab, type a name for the tab into the field that appears, and press Enter.

When snap-ins are added they are placed in the upper left corner of the Dashboard. Snap-ins can be:

To see more than one property’s data in the snap-in, click the Use Selected Properties box and Use Selected Properties becomes a link. Click the link and select properties from the pop-up, and then click Save. This functionality is available on snap-ins with the Use Selected Properties check box only.

Note

Selected Properties is a global setting. When you use Selected Properties, your selection applies to all snap-ins, not just to the specific snap-in for which you clicked the Use Selected Properties check box.

Snap-ins may contain graphical depictions of data. If values are not shown, rest the cursor over the bars or sections on graphs or charts and values will appear.
