To Associate a Parameter with the Letter Function
After a Create Letter Function is added for a property,
a new field group called Function
appears on the Data Template Tab
for each Letter Type. Use the Function field group to define the parameter
you want to associate with the letter function.

            - From the eSite menu,
 select Setup—Letters—Data Template.
- From the grid, select
the template you want to edit.
- From the Data
Template Tab, under Field Groups, select Function.
Your current letter functions appear in the Available fields list.
- Double-click the
letter function you want to use. A parameters list appears.
- Select the parameter
you want to associate with the letter function, and click Select.
The parameter is added to the Selected Fields list, with the field label
in parenthesis at the end of the text string.
- Click Save.
Now, you can use the field in a form letter to be used in the eSite letters
 process.

 Note
For existing letter templates, if you edit templates
because selected merge fields contain more than 35 characters, you must
 also edit the documents.
