Make the following menu selections to display this grid:
eFinancials—Setup—AP Setup or
eFinancials AR Setup—Expense
Codes or
ePO—Setup—Expense Codes
Use this grid to manage accounts payable or accounts receivable expense codes. Refer to Expense Codes Overview for more information.
Fields List
Current PropertyCompany
Select a current PropertyCompany from the drop-down list. The expense codes associated with that PropertyCompany display in the grid below.
Add Code button
Use this button to add an expense code.
Create from GL button
Use this button to add expense codes based on the general ledger. Refer to the create instructions later in this topic.
Find [Column Title]
This field defaults to Expense Code; however, if you click any underlined grid column title, the field label changes to reflect your selection. You can then search for entries based on the field label. For example, if you know the expense code description, click the Description column title and the find field label changes to Find Description.
Enter the first few letters or numbers to search for (or select from a drop-down list if one displays), and then select the Find button. The items that are the nearest match to your entry display in the grid below. Click column titles to sort the list further.
Go Button
Use the Page field and the Go Button to display additional pages when the list of entries in the grid is longer than one page.
Create from GL for All Account Types
This box defaults as unchecked. Accept this default if you are creating expense codes for income and expense account types that are any of the following record types: Heading, Detail, Total.
Click this box to add a checkmark if you are creating expense codes for all account types. The system creates expense codes for Detail accounts for each of the following account types: Asset, Liability, Capital, Profit, Income, Expense. The system does not create codes for the record types Heading or Total.
Expense code
The expense code identification that appears on lists and in reports. Click this column title to sort the list and change the Find field. Click a code link to display the Expense Code tab.
Description
The description of the expense code that appears on lists and in reports. Click this column title to sort the list and change the Find field.
Actions
Click the Delete icon to delete an expense code.
