Setup 1099 Categories Tab

Make the following menu selections to display this tab:

eFinancials—Setup—AP Setup—1099 Categories

Use this tab to change the status of 1099 categories. Refer to 1099 Categories Overview for more information.

ClosedFields

The following fields and buttons appear on the tab that displays when you select the menu option.

Find

Find [Column Title]

This field defaults to Category; however, if you click any underlined grid column title, the field label changes to reflect your selection. You can then search for entries based on the field label. For example, if you know the category description, click the Description column title and the find field label changes to Find Description.

Enter the first few letters or numbers to search for (or select from a drop-down list if one displays), and then select the Find button. The items that are the nearest match to your entry display in the grid below. Click column titles to sort the list further.

Go Button

Use the Page field and the Go Button to display additional pages when the list of entries in the grid is longer than one page.

Grid

Category

The category identification that appears on lists and in reports. Click this column title to sort the list and change the Find field. Click a category link to display the 1099 Categories tab.

Form Name

The category form name that appears on lists and in reports. Click this column title to sort the list and change the Find field.

Form Block

The block number for the category on the 1099 form. Click this column title to sort the list and change the Find field.

Description

The description of the use of the block on the 1099 form. Click this column title to sort the list and change the Find field.

Active

The status of the category.

If N, the category is not active.

If Y, the category is active.

 

Edit 1099 Category Status

  1. Use the Find field and Find Button to locate the category you want to edit.
  2. Select the ID link in the Category column. The categories tab displays.
  3. Refer to the Fields list above for information on the display-only fields.
  4. At Active*, enter N for No, not active or enter Y for Yes, active. Only active categories (Y) display in 1099 drop-down lists.
  5. Select the Save button. The setup tab displays again.
