Effect of Policies on Invoices

Policies define how the system responds. The following policies affect the Inventory Module, as applicable.

Financials (or ePO)—Setup—Global Setup—Policies—Entirty Company Policy Groups—(settings link)

• Post to closed jobs – Inventory Entry
• Post to non-existent phase and cost codes – Inventory Entry
• Update Quantities to the Jobs - Inventory

eFinancials (or ePO)—Setup—Global Setup—Policies—Global Policies—PO tab

• Allow quantity received to exceed quantity ordered
• Allow override of inventory unit cost when receiving

eFinancials (or ePO)—Setup—Global Setup—Policies—Global Policies—Other Tab

• Use Inventory

Inventory—Setup—Global Setup—Warehouses

• Calculate and accrue use tax on inventory transactions
• Charge Items Using (Average Cost or Standard Cost)
• Method of inventory valuation

NOTE that an administrator can change policy settings. Caution should be exercised when altering defaults or established settings, as changes can have far-reaching effects on the way the system handles your inventory-related items.
