Delete Property Overview

Delete Property provides the ability to delete a property in eFinancials or ePO when your system was set up using the Standard Setup method. The system will only delete a property if no general ledger data is associated with it. Before you can delete a property, the associated entities must be deleted.

Note

To use this option you must have the Delete Property security permission, granted from System—Security—Users.
Delete Property only appears on the menu when your system uses Standard Setup.

After initiating the delete process, a report appears that lists, for each property, the required or recommended actions or states that the process completed successfully. Messages on the report can include:

Property Delete	Property 'Property Name' deleted successfully.
Check for open multi-property POs	Property 'Property Name' cannot be deleted until allocations to this property are removed from the following POs or the POs are closed: PO123, PO456
Check for open multi-property recurring POs	Property 'Property Name' cannot be deleted until allocations to this property are removed from the following Recurring POs or the Recurring POs are closed or voided: PO789
Check for multi-property allocations	Property 'Property Name' cannot be deleted until items for this property are removed for the following multi-property allocations: Allocations1
Check for GL Data	Property 'Property Name' has GL data. Delete associated entities first.

The property delete process

Removes an allocation to the property being deleted if all allocation items are associated to the property being deleted only; any references to that allocation (vendor, purchase order, invoice, recurring PO, recurring invoice) will be null after the property is successfully deleted.
Cannot delete a property if it is part of a multi-property allocation until the allocation items are removed and the percentage totals 0.00.
Recalculates totals for multiple-property purchase orders, invoices, billings, receipts, and payments.
Provides a red warning message at the bottom of entry screens for multiple-property purchase orders, invoices, billings, receipts, and payments when the delete process has removed items for the property being deleted and there were items for other properties. Example:
