Delete EntityCompany Overview

Delete EntityCompany provides the capability to delete one or more selected entitiescompanies. When entitiescompanies are deleted, all entitycompany information is removed from the database, including journal entries and recurring journal entries. Once deleted, the entitycompany is no longer available from the Setup Entities GridSetup Companies Grid, the Select EntitiesCompanies Tab, or through GL inquiries.

When a journal entry is associated with more than one entitycompany, and one or more of those entitiescompaniesis deleted, a message in red letters will display across the bottom of the Journal Entry tab stating that line items have been removed from that journal entry during the Delete EntityCompany process.

For example:

The Delete EntityCompany process removed one or more items for entitycompany ‘SampleEntity’ from this Journal Entry on MM/DD/YYYY by UserName.

Note:

• To use this option, you must have the Delete EntityCompany security permission, granted from System—Security—Users.
• This topic refers to deleting entities or companies, based on whether your system is set up to use Standard Setup or Simplified Setup.
