Budgets Overview

A budget is a statement of your financial position for a defined time period. The statement is based on an estimate of expenditures that need to be made during a time period to run your business. You can have many budgets that serve many purposes. For example, you may have an overall budget for your business that is composed of entitymultiple company budgets. An individual entitycompany budget might be composed of departmental budgets.

Note

Depending on the applications purchased by your company, budget-related tabs can display from either eFinancials or ePO menus. If your company uses both eFinancials and ePO, it is possible to set up a Closedseparate budget for each.

To use separate budgets, on the global policies Budget tab select Separate eFinancials/ePO Budgets. Refer to Effect of Global Policies and Effect of User Policies for more information.
