Effect of Property Policies on Transfer to G/L

Property policies are functions that determine how eSite responds for all properties with the corresponding Policy Code. A policy code of S0001 containing the default settings is automatically provided when starting the system for the first time with no available data.

The administrator who sets up your system makes a decision to use the standard default policy code or add a new one containing different policy settings.

Properties linked to a policy code behave according to the policy settings associated with the code.
Property policies determine which property-specific G/L entity interface to use: single or multiple.
The choice is made in the Interface to G/L category while setting up property policies.
The defaults are based on the standard property policy S0001 and assumes that a Single entity interface is used to establish a one-to-one correspondence between the property and the entity being transferred to the general ledger.

NOTE that an administrator can change policy settings. Caution should be exercised when altering defaults or established settings, as changes can have far-reaching effects on the way the system handles Transfer to G/L.
