Unit Active and Inactive dates have a direct effect on how certain eSite reports generate data. Reports are based on two types of date criteria: report selection dates and date ranges.
Depending on the report, data is included or excluded based on the Report Selection Date, which is typically the same as the current system log in date, unless otherwise specified in Reports, Select Properties, or the date range selected for the report. Only activity with a date that falls within that date range is included. Any activity outside of that date range is excluded.
In addition, if Unit Active/Inactive dates are used, the system determines whether activity related to that unit should be included or excluded based on the following rules.
There are exceptions to this rule, as follows:
All reports that include transaction detail, such as payments and/or charges include that activity regardless if the unit state is active or inactive.
All reports that include open item detail print tenants/residents with open items regardless if the unit state is active or inactive.
