Renewals Prorate Calculator Overview

Residents renewing their lease on any day other than the first day of the month can expect to pay a prorated billing or credit amount based on the day the renewal occurs. eSite auto-calculates these amounts based on property policy settings, prorate types and internal coding used to distinguish between the various calculations. Use the Renewals Prorate Calculator to manually compute these amounts or have the system automatically do it for you when entering lease renewals that occur within the month.

Based on the policy and prorate type settings, eSite applies one of three types of prorate calculations to compute the dollar amounts billed or credited to residents during a move-in or move-out.

Note

Standard and Annualized prorate methods do not apply to mid-month renewals. Instead, these renewals are based on a daily rate to ensure the proper renewal amount is being charged.
