Effect of Global Policies on Guest Cards

Global policies are functions that determine how eSite responds for all properties set up within the system. Global guest card policies affect guest card entry and processing. The administrator who sets up your system makes a decision on a method for guest card entry—either using guest cards or global guest cards.

The choices are made on the Inter Property, Additional Tab while setting up global policies. The defaults limit the display of guest cards to only those entered for the current property during application entry. Also, by default, guest cards are restricted to only the current property and entry is governed by Begin of Day/End of Day processing.

NoteNote

A system administrator can modify the default policy settings. Use caution when altering defaults because the results can affect the way the entire system handles your guest cards.

The following global policies affect guest cards:

Setup—Policies—Global Policies—Inter Property, Additional Tab

Allow guest cards to apply in different property —This policy must be selected for the system to share guest cards across properties.

Allow global guest cards—This policy must be selected for the system to track a guest card from the initial visit to a leasing center through each property the guest visits, and to make guest cards accessible across properties.

During Guest Card entry, display current Occupants at other Properties with matching first and last name — This policy must be selected for the system to display current occupants at other properties with matching first and last name.

Show guest cards even if Applicants —This policy must be selected for the system to display guest cards after a prospective resident submits an application.
