Make the following menu selections to display the grid:

Use this grid to manage buildings.
Field Lists
Add Building button
Select this button to add a new building. Refer to the add instructions later in this topic.
Building
The building identification.
Description
The building description.
Memos
Click the Memos icon to display building memo grid.
Documents
Click the Documents icon to view, add, or delete documents. For more information, refer to Documents Grid.
Delete
Click the Delete icon to delete a building. Refer to the delete instructions later in this topic.
This form appears when you click Add Building or select a link for a building from the Buildings grid. Use this tab to add or edit data for a building.
Note
A red indicator ( ) shows a required field.
Building
Enter an identification code for the building. For example, if the buildings on this property are numbered, enter the building number.
Description
Enter a description of the building. For example, if the buildings have street addresses, enter the address.
# of Units (Entered)
Enter the number of units in the building. Or, click the drop-down arrow to display an electronic calculator to use to total the number of units in the building.
# of Units (Calculated)
The display-only total number of units in the building. This number only includes units defined as Active and not wait-listed or under-construction. The system automatically calculates and enters this total based on information entered when the building's units were set up.
Useable Sq Ft (Entered)
Enter the total square footage for the building. Or, click the drop-down arrow to display an electronic calculator to use to total useable square footage for the building.
Useable Sq Ft (Calculated)
The display-only total square footage amount for the building. This amount only includes square footage for units defined as Active and not wait-listed or under-construction. The system automatically calculates and enters this total based on information entered when the building's units were set up.
Additional fields for Commercial properties only
These fields appear on the tab only for properties with the property type 6—Standard Commercial.
Rentable Sq Ft (Entered)
Enter the total Rentable square footage for the building. Or, click the drop-down arrow to display an electronic calculator to use to total the Rentable square footage. Rentable square footage is the useable square footage of the suite plus a prorated share of common areas, such as hallways.
Rentable Sq Ft (Calculated)
The display-only, Rentable square footage amount for the building. This amount only includes square footage for units defined as Active and not wait-listed or under-construction. The system automatically calculates and enters this total based on information entered when the building's units were set up.
Leaseable Sq Ft (Entered)
Enter the total Leaseable square footage for the building. Or, click the drop-down arrow to display an electronic calculator to use to total the Leaseable square footage. Leaseable square footage is the square footage as defined a signed lease between tenant and management property.
Leaseable Sq Ft (Calculated)
The display-only, Leaseable square footage amount for the building. This amount only includes square footage for units defined as Active and not wait-listed or under-construction. The system automatically calculates and enters this total based on information entered when the building's units were set up.
Defined Use Sq Ft (Entered)
Enter the total Defined Use square footage for the building. Or, click the drop-down arrow to display an electronic calculator to use to total the Defined Use square footage. Defined Use square footage is an additional square footage type that may be defined in the lease that does not fall within the Rentable, Usable, or Leaseable definition. The user has the option to define a custom name for this type of square footage in Property Policy Names.
Defined Use Sq Ft (Calculated)
The display-only, Defined-Use square footage amount for the building. This amount only includes square footage for units defined as Active and not wait-listed or under-construction. The system automatically calculates and enters this total based on information entered when the building's units were set up.
Buttons
Reset button
Use the Reset button to discard changes to the tab but stay on the tab.
Cancel button
Use the Cancel button to discard changes to the tab and return to the Buildings tab.
Save button
Use the Save button to save changes to the tab.
Procedures
Note
A building cannot be deleted if any units are associated with the Building.
