Buildings Overview
Buildings are part of a property location. Buildings
contain units, which can be called units, apartments, etc.
Using the Building features included in this system,
you set up Buildings, and then associate Units with the Buildings and
use that association to track cost, price, and value for apartments. When
you track these things, it provides you with information that you can
use for cost comparisons with other properties and to assign fair market
value rent to your units.
Effect of Units on Buildings
The system maintains a list of the individual Buildings that are associated
with a Property. When further associations are established for the Buildings—for example,
Units are associated with a Building—the
association affects your ability to delete the Building.
So, if Units A, B, C, and D are associated with Building 100, then Building
100 cannot be deleted. The Building's association with the Units would
have to be removed before Building 100 could be deleted.
