Effect of Global Policies on Calculate SDI
Global Policies are functions that determine how eSite
responds for all properties set up within the system. Often, these provide
users with defaults that lighten workload and cause business data to be
processed in a consistent manner. Defaults are used as place
holders—automatically
assigned and displayed by the system and remain until other values are
specified.
NOTE
that an administrator can change policy settings. Caution should be exercised
when altering defaults or established settings, as changes can have far-reaching
effects on the way the system handles calculating security deposit interest.
Effect of Global Policies
- The policy selections on the View, Print,
Wait List Tab determine:
- if payments display as credits
and
- how those credits should appear on reports and lists.
- The policy selections on the Batch, Bulk, Transfer Tab defines:
- the maximum number of receipts that can be entered in
a batch,
- if that maximum number can be changed or not,
- if that maximum
number can be exceeded,
- if batches are required to be restricted to a
particular property, and
- if only the user who created the batch can enter
transactions in it.
- The policy selections on the AME, Interface Tab determine:
- if security refunds are transferred to an accounts
payable system, and
- whether to transfer security refunds to A /P or not, and
- the Refund.APS format to be used for the transfer.
- The policy selections on the Inter
Property, Additional Tab determine:
- whether security deposit interest calculations
are used.
- If yes, then the Calculate SDI option
displays in the Processing menu.
- If not, the option is hidden.
