Write-Offs Overview

Use Write-Offs to remove delinquent balances that you are unable to collect, usually for previous residents. The resident's outstanding balance is reduced by the amount of each write-off item.

In general, write-offs follow these simple rules. Write-Offs cannot be processed for residents with a restricted status. If the system recognizes the resident has prepaid open items, it requires Apply Open Credits be used prior to processing the write-off transaction.
