Type of Transaction
            Select the type of transaction to correct from 
 the drop-down list. Transaction Types 
 are hard-coded into the system and include such items as Payment, Billing, 
 Write-Off and more. If uncertain which transaction type to use, select 
 Transactions Inquiry to verify the original entry.
            Date
            The date defaults to the current system date. 
 Accept the default or enter another date using the format mm/dd/yyyy. 
 Or click the Calendar button to display an electronic calendar from which 
 you can select a date. 
            Description
            The default entry is Correcting Transaction. Accept 
 the default or enter a more descriptive name for the correction. For example, 
 Reverse Billing. 
            Amount
            Enter the amount of the correcting transaction 
 using the format 0000.00. Or use the Calculator 
 Button to figure an amount. This amount is the opposite value of the 
 original entry except when Refund, Forfeit 
 or Write-Off is selected from the Type 
 of Transaction drop-down. In these cases, enter the amount to refund, 
 forfeit or write-off using the format 0000.00. Or click the drop-down 
 arrow to display an electronic calculator that you can use to complete 
 this field. 
            Due Date
            The date defaults to the current system date. 
 Accept the default or enter another date to record the date of the original 
 entry using the format mm/dd/yyyy. Or click the Calendar button to display 
 an electronic calendar from which you can select a date. This field is 
 hidden when Refund is selected from the Type of Transaction drop-down.
            Invoice No.
            If invoice numbers are used, enter the invoice 
 number of the original entry. This field is hidden when Refund 
 is selected from the Type of Transaction drop-down.
            Ref No
            If reference numbers are used, enter the reference 
 number of the original entry. This field is hidden when Payment, 
 Refund, Forfeit or Adjustment is selected from the Type 
 of Transaction drop-down.
            Income Code
            Select the income code used in the original entry. 
 If uncertain which income code to use, select Transactions Inquiry to 
 verify the original entry.
            Apply To Code
            Select the income code to apply to the correcting 
 transaction from the drop-down list. Income Codes are established on the 
 Income Codes Tab. This field only displays 
 when Forfeit is selected from the Type 
 of Transaction drop-down.
            Payment Type
            Select the payment method used for the original 
 entry from the drop-down list. This field only displays when Payment 
 is selected from the Type of Transaction 
 drop-down.
            Check No
            Enter the check number used in the original entry. 
 This field only displays when Payment is selected 
 from the Type of Transaction drop-down.
            Date of Record
            The date defaults to the current system date. 
 Accept the default or enter another date to post this transaction to using 
 the format mm/dd/yyyy. Or click the Calendar button to display an electronic 
 calendar from which you can select a date. 
            GL Period
            The G/L period defaults to the month and year 
 of the date of record. Accept the default or enter another date to post 
 this transaction to using the format mm/yyyy. 
            Exclude when transferring to GL
            The default is unchecked. Accept the default or 
 check the box if the correcting transaction should be excluded when transferring 
 data to the general ledger.
