Setup Sequence Concepts

We offer two types of set up sequences based on property type—Residential and Commercial.

Residential includes the set up sequence for Standard Residential, Manufactured Housing, Student Housing, Corporate Housing, and Subsidized Housing property types.

Commercial includes the set up sequence for Standard Commercial properties. EZ setup and Full setup further define the setup sequence.

Prior to starting, read the Setup Sequence topic that best describes your setup: EZ Residential Setup Sequence, Full Residential Setup Sequence, EZ Commercial Setup Sequence, or Full Commercial Setup Sequence. The sequence you use to set up the system is important because the selections you make on one tab affect other tabs.

Examples:

A Calendar must be set up prior to setting up a Property because you must be able to select a Calendar on the Properties tab.

A property Policy Code must be set up prior to setting up a Property because you must be able to select a Property Policy Code on the Properties tab.

So, following the recommended setup sequence saves you some transition time from tab to tab and can save you some frustration. Following the sequence exactly is not absolutely necessary unless otherwise noted. The system is flexible enough to allow deviation within a setup sequence.

NOTE that setup sequences also indicate whether or not a setup is required—look for asterisks ( * ). A few setups—Amenities, for example—are optional. They may be set up at any time because they are not central to the running of the system; they enhance the system.
