ABA Account Overview

The American Banking Associated (ABA) Transit Numbers are numbers that are associated with specific banks. Setting up Transit Numbers enables the hardware and software to read scanned check information and verify it against a database of transit numbers and bank information in order to recognize and accept the check.

Setting up ABA Transit Numbers is optional; however, if you are using MICR for check printing, you should set up Transit Numbers.
