        Active/Inactive Units Overview
The Unit Active and Inactive Dates function is designed
for use by properties that sub-lease units. Typically, this is a corporate
 housing property.
        With the appropriate policies
set, values entered in the Active or Inactive date fields define the state
of that unit. The state affects how units are counted throughout the system
in leasing functions, reports, and the Recalc Counts utility, as follows:

            - If a unit is Active,
it displays throughout the system as an available, leasable unit and activity
is allowed. It is considered in calculations and reports.

            - If a unit is Inactive,
it is hidden throughout the system and is unavailable for leasing. Activity
is not allowed or considered for the time period that the unit is Inactive,
nor is it considered in calculations or reports. This allows you to temporarily
remove that unit from your books for a specified period of time without
having to delete it. For example, if units are leased on a time-share
or seasonal basis, those units could be marked Active
for the time they are available to be leased and marked Inactive
for the times of year when they are vacant.
