This section provides a basic description of the software and an introduction to using the Help system. Look in this section for information on logging in, descriptions of initial page display, and instructions for using the Help system.
System is used to manage security and to set up databases. In addition, System is where you change your password and select items for display on the Dashboard. You can also use System to export a Microsoft Access database containing a listing of permission information for users, roles, and groups. Users with the Expire Passwords permission can manually expire all passwords and reset the expiration period for all users.
Because the functions in System are necessary for each of the products in Infor Property Management, the System menu displays with all products included in the suite.
The following types of users use System:
Administrators
Administrators use System to manage security for Infor Property Management products. They add roles, groups, and users. Roles grant permissions to use functions in a product in Infor Property Management. Groups grant access to the data associated with a product in Infor Property Management. Users are set up with user names and passwords (used to log in to the suite of products), and then assigned to roles and groups to grant access to functions and data. Refer to the Concepts and Processes topics for more information on roles, groups, and users.
To ensure that your system runs in an efficient and secure manner, we suggest that you limit the ability to perform these tasks to administrators. Refer to Concepts and Processes topics for more information on limiting access to System.
Users
Users use System to change passwords.
