The Minnesota CRP Forms report is a state-specific report
only used by landlords or nursing home administrators who have tenants
in the state of Minnesota.
If you own rental property and rent living space
to other persons in the state of Minnesota, you or your managing agent
must issue a Certificate of Rent Paid (CRP) to those persons if:
- property tax was
payable in the prior year on the property, or
- you were not required
to pay property tax, but you made payments in lieu of property taxes.
When are CRPs Due?
Landlords must give one CRP form to each renter no
later than January 31, of the following year. For instance, for the year
2017, CRPs must be issued by January 31, 2018.
Where can I get more information?
For more information about Minnesota CRP forms, including
who must receive a CRP and the penalty for failing to provide a CRP to
renters, please contact the Minnesota Department of Revenue. You can find
fact sheets, instructions, and other tax-related information if you search
for Landlord information at www.taxes.state.mn.us/.
The report reads the memo setup detail entered for
the following memo forms: @CPRM,
@DUS, BMCRP
and PMCRP.
