Header

Create recurring JE's

Select this check box if you want to create recurring journal entries as part of the closing process.

Run Soft Close for all selected EntitiesCompanies

Select this check box if you want to run a soft close instead of a hard close. For more information, refer to Period Close Overview.

Grid

EntityCompany check boxes

Check boxes that are associated with batches display. A label to the right of the check box gives you a hint about the batch. Checked batches are included in the period close while unchecked batches are not included.

Period to Close

The display-only period that will be closed when the Hard Close process is run. This column disappears when you click the Run Soft Close for all selected EntitiesCompanies check box, as a Soft Close does not close the period; it rolls the current period to the next period. For more information, refer to Period Close Overview.

Current Period

The display-only period to which transactions in the batch are set up to post.

Information

The display-only status of a batch.

Green text generally denotes a batch that is ready to process. Only batches that carry a status of Ready to close can be included in the period close.

Red text generally denotes a batch that needs more work. Red text frequently contains information about the work that still needs to be completed for the batch. Select the batch link to the right to display more information.

Cancel

Click to exit without saving changes.

Run GL Period Close

Click to run the period close.

1. If you want the system to create recurring journal entries as part of the period close, select the Create Recurring JE's check box. Or, if you do not want the system to create recurring journal entries as part of the period close, clear the check box.

Note

If the Create Recurring JE's check box is selected during period close, the period close process is completed for the ending date of the next accounting period for the Entity or PropertyCompany being closed.

2. Select the Run Soft Close for all selected EntitiesCompanies check box if you want to run a Soft Close. Or, if you want to do a Hard Close do not check the check box. For more information, refer to Period Close Overview.
3. Select the check box(es) next to each EntityCompany you want to include in the period close. Or, select the EntityCompany check box next to the EntityCompany column heading to select all EntitiesCompanies.
4. Click Run GL Period Close.
