Make the following menu selections to display this grid:
Setup—Job Costing—Lien Waiver Formats
Use this menu option to manage the setup of Lien Waiver Formats. Using this option, you can define and maintain the Lien Waiver Formats that the system uses for the generation of lien waivers.
Lien Waiver Formats are created and edited using a rich text editor, which is similar to a word processing editor. One special tool in the editor is the Add Fields button, used to insert fields into the format for items that can vary from one lien waiver to another, for example check number, lien waiver number, etc. You can also use the Add Fields button to include up to ten lines of Legal Description text that you added to the Job (in Setup—Job Costing—Jobs) on the Lien Waivers Tab.
Fields
Add Lien Waiver Format
Click the button to add a new Lien Waiver format. The Choose Template pop-up opens so that you can choose a format to use as the basis for the format you are adding. The system-provided formats are:
Blank - A blank format that has no content. Use the rich text editor to add content from scratch.
Final Sample - A sample editable Final Lien Waiver and Release format that you save with a new name.
Progress - Sample - A sample editable Progress Lien Waiver and Release format that you save with a new name.
All other formats in the Choose Template pop-up are user-created formats that are listed so that you can use them for creating a new format.
Refer to instructions later in this topic for information on how to add a format.
Format
The label for the Lien Waiver Format. For example, Format 100. Actions you can perform are as follows
Click the link to display the Edit Lien Waiver Format page.
Click this column title to sort the grid by Format.
Click the Filter button to filter the grid by this column.
Description
The description for the Lien Waiver Format. For example, Lien Waiver Format 100. Actions you can perform are as follows.
Click this column title to sort the grid by Description.
Click the Filter button to filter the grid by this column.
Delete
Use the Delete button to delete a Lien Waiver Format. Only Lien Waiver Formats that are not being used have the Delete icon available.
Also, the system-supplied formats Blank, Final - Sample, and Progress - Sample, cannot be deleted.
Header
After selecting to add or edit a Lien Waiver Format, these fields appear in the header:
Format
Enter a label for the Lien Waiver Format. For example, Format 100. The name of the format must be unique to the database.
Description
Enter a description for the Lien Waiver Format. For example, Lien Waiver Format 100.
Rich Text Editor

Use the rich text editor to add or edit text. Notice that the editor is similar to a word processing editor, with the usual tools available.
Editor tools
To identify the tools, place the mouse over icons on the toolbar to view the tool tips.
NOTE that the Copy, Paste, Cut, Undo, and Redo, functions do not have icons, but can be replicated using keyboard shortcuts:
Copy = Ctrl+C
Cut = Ctrl+X
Paste = Ctrl+V
Undo = Ctrl+Z
Insert Field (button)
Place the cursor where you want to insert a field and click theInsert Fieldbutton. A pop-up list of options appears. Select an option from the list and the field appears in the rich text editor at the cursor location with brackets around it, for example {Last Invoice Date}.

The fields and options are:
Check - Number, Date, Amount (Numerical), Amount (Written), Joint Payee
Lien Waiver - Number, Last Invoice Date, Job Amount (Numerical), Job Amount (Written)
Company - Name, Address #1- #3, City, State, Zip Code
Control - Page Break
Job - Number, Name, Location, Address #1 - #3, City, State, Zip Code, Legal Description #1 - #10 (refer to Lien Waivers Tab in Job Costing—Jobs).
Vendor - Phone Number, Fax Number, Name, Address #1 - #3, City, State, Zip Code, Type, Payments YTD, Short Name
Customer - Name, Address #1 - #3, City, State, Zip Code
