Effect of Posting Rules on Checks

Posting rules are used to define the handling of check data that is transferred to the general ledger.

Most businesses do transfer check data to their general ledger. Depending on the bank account on which you are drawing, a CASH option can display. Refer to Posting Rules by Transaction Type for specific information about posting rules for the Checks Transaction type.

Caution

Without setting up posting rules specific to your organization, the system cannot post transactions properly. Setting up posting rules is required.
