Effect of Insurance Fields

Selections made in insurance-related fields can affect your ability to add invoices.

The field Warn if vendors have expired insurance appears on the global policy Vendor Tab. This field works in conjunction with the field Insurance Required, which appears on the vendor Required Documents Tab. Selections made for these fields and the expiration dates entered on the vendor Required Documents Tab work in combination with each other. The following lists provides details of the combination of selections and entries you can make, and the results of the combinations.

ClosedWarning Option Selected

Conditions

Warn if vendors have expired insurance: The option is selected.

Insurance Required: The option is selected.

Date: The insurance date is entered but expired.

Results
Warning displays but you can still enter the invoice whether or not the insurance is expired.

Conditions

Warn if vendors have expired insurance: The option is selected.

Insurance Required: The option is not selected.

Date: The insurance date is entered and it is still in force, or it is expired. Or, the date is blank.

Results
No warning displays and you can enter the invoice.

Conditions

Warn if vendors have expired insurance: The option is selected.

Insurance Required: The option is selected.

Date: The insurance date is entered and still in force.

Results
No warning displays and you can enter the invoice.

ClosedWarning Option Not Selected

Conditions

Warn if vendors have expired insurance: The option is not selected.

Insurance Required: The option is selected.

Date: The insurance date is entered and is expired.

Results
Warning displays and you cannot enter the invoice because the insurance is expired.

Conditions

Warn if vendors have expired insurance: The option is not selected.

Insurance Required: The option is not selected.

Date: The insurance date is entered and it is still in force, or it is expired. Or, the date is blank.

Results
No warning displays and you can enter the invoice.
